How often should you check a fire extinguisher?

Every month.

How to do it

Check that the gauge needle is in the green, the pin and seal are in place, and nothing blocks the extinguisher.

Why it matters

A discharged or blocked extinguisher is no help in the first minute of a fire.

Recommended interval: every month, per National Fire Protection Association.
