How often should you seal a deck?

Once a year.

Best month: June (Northern Hemisphere)

Only some homes need this one. It is optional on the checklist and starts switched off in the tracker.

How to do it

Sprinkle water on the deck. If it beads, the seal is still good. If it soaks in, clean the deck, let it dry for two days, and apply a sealer.

Why it matters

Unsealed wood absorbs water, cracks and rots.

Recommended interval: once a year, per Thompson's WaterSeal.
