How often should you recaulk a bathtub or shower?

Every 6 months (twice a year).

How to do it

Look for cracked, peeling or moldy caulk where the tub or shower meets the wall. Cut out the bad sections and recaulk.

Why it matters

Gaps let water into the wall behind the tile, where it rots quietly.

Recommended interval: every 6 months, per University of Georgia Cooperative Extension.
